MUSSELS PANCETTA PUTTANESCA
Ingredients
- 1 T Calizo Extra Virgin Olive Oil with Lemon
- 4 oz diced pancetta
- 5 ounce sliced sweet onion
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- ½ Cup Calizo Italianaise
- 3 fresh Basil leaves, chopped
- 1 cup Grape Tomatoes, halved
- 3 T Calizo Puttanesca Naturale
- ½ T Garlic Powder
- 3 lbs. Mussels
- ¼ cup unsalted butterCrusty Bread (optional)
Pre-heat large sauté pan on medium heat
Add Calizo Extra Virgin Olive Oil with Lemon and pancetta, cook till pancetta is crisp, not overdone
Add onions, cook to 10-12 minutes, stir occasionally
Wash mussels, set aside
Stir in thyme, tomatoes, and simmer 5 minutes or till tomatoes pop and soften, mash lightly
Add Garlic Powder, Calizo Puttanesca Naturale, stir
Add Calizo Italianaise and water to thin-- if sauce is too thick
