– Ice

– Cocktail glass or a stemmed glass

– Fine sugar

– 1 ounce Campari or Aperol

– 1 ounce sweet vermouth, gin, or vodka of choice

– 2 ounces prosecco

– Orange rind and juice of one orange

– Mint leaf

– Toothpick


– Rind the orange, soak rind in Cointreau then place in microwave for 10 seconds.

– Squeeze one orange, dip the glass of choice in the juice, then in the fine sugar, set aside.

– Ice in glass (optional if liquors are chilled).

– Pour into glass- Campari or Aperol with sweet vermouth, gin, or vodka (1/4 of glass).

– Pour prosecco (1/4 of glass), stir mixture…approximately half a glass of liquor.

– Bend orange rind, attach mint leaf with toothpick, hang on sugar rimed glass.

TASTE: Slightly bitter.
Negroni recipes vary extensively throughout Italy, and specifically to the drinker. Some add sugar cubes, fresh lemon juice, and others keep the drink simple with or without ice.   Mix the combination of liquors to your choice and enjoy!
